Educational technology
is the integration of Internet and other information
technologies into the learning experience. This concept
continuously changes due to advancements made in the
field. Instructional options have drastically changed thanks
to the addition and utilization of technology in the education
experience. One such option is distant learning. Distance
learning is an instructional strategy that utilizes online
resources (i.e., chat rooms, file transfers, message boards,
and conference calling) allowing students to maximize their
learning experiences--maintaining a flexible education
schedule with minimal travel time. In sum, distance learning
provides instructors and students a variety of information
whereby instructors and students can readily access documents,
postings, and other forms of communication.
